Welcome to the Second Samhain/Hallowe'en Devon Fibre Retreat 2010

Picture
WE all enjoyed ourselves so much last year, I've decided to organise another fibre retreat - not a cure for constipation, but a blissful weekend of good company, good food, and much time for spinning, knitting, crocheting, (weaving, dyeing?).  We saw the entire gamut of fibre production last year - from visiting the Bowmont sheep and cashmere goats at Westcott Farm to watching John Arbon virtually climb inside his carding and spinning machines in his enthusiasm to explain how things work at Coldharbour Mill.  We enjoyed an amazing candlelit supper made from local ingredients at the Nobody Inn.   The Teign Valley in October is a glorious place - ablaze with autumn colour and smelling of mist and harvest.

So - Same Itinerary, same place.  Sheldon Long Barn is going to be refurbished into a much more comfortable double roomed venue in 2011 - so this will be the last time we get to appreciate the 'monk-like' single rooms.  Lesley is happy to have us back, and John and Juliet have promised to look out some fleecy bargains and coned wool.  I plan to keep it small and cosy, again  - so only 16 residential places available and up to 10 day guests,  Book early to guarantee your place!
